Expanse Bra
To be perfectly honest, the thought of developing a bra was terrifying to me. Boobs are complicated, friends! But my fear was offset by the (well-earned) confidence of my designer—she has completed extensive, specialized education in bra function, performance, and comfort. So to make the dream of matching sets come true, I decided to let the expert be an expert. And the Expanse bra is the result!
Like the original leggings, the bra was developed on a sample size 3X or 22/24 with a DD/DDD cup.
This is a wire-free bra designed for low-impact activities.
The straps are adjustable and convertible: wear the bra cross back or straight.
The Expanse bra has clips on both sides of the band, allowing for significant adjustability in band size. Feedback has been that this feature makes getting in and out of the bra more accessible and it reduces concern of getting trapped in a sweaty sports bra.
Because the band offers significant adjustability, we are able to utilize the concept of “sister sizing” for folks who are not a DD/DDD cup. If you are smaller, consider sizing down, but set the band sizing larger. If you are larger, consider sizing up, but set the band sizing smaller.
The Expanse bra has pockets for pads/inserts, but it does not come with them. When doing our market research, we learned that people often feel very strongly about pads vs. not, and this is our attempt at a compromise.
The main fabric of the bra is the same custom fabric we use on our leggings. It’s a 75% recycled nylon and 25% spandex Oeko-Tex certified blend engineered specifically for active use. Soft. Supportive. Stretchy. We also included an inset of mesh just above the front center of the band for a little extra air flow.
As always, we use flat lock seams for durability, support, and comfort.
